About Steve Glink

In 1979, Steven started his legal career in Cook County Juvenile Court, fighting for the rights of kids accused of crimes. Steven continued his fight for the rights of all people when he was promoted to the felony division of the Criminal Court of Cook County in 1983.

In 1986, Steven joined a school law firm where he learned the intricacies of the Illinois School Code and the workings of boards of education around the State.

Since 1991, Steven has recommitted himself to protecting the rights of people everywhere by specializing in school law (student discipline, special education, and teacher/ principal dismissal), criminal defense and juvenile law. Steven has won several significant court victories against boards of education in the areas of zero tolerance violations and student discipline. In one of Steven's cases, Colquitt v. Rich Township High School District #227, the Illinois Appellate Court upheld the accused student's right to confront and cross-examine witnesses against him at an expulsion hearing. This is the first appellate court ruling of this kind in Illinois.
