Occupational Seat Cushion Study on Academic Performance in Children With ADD/ADHD.

ADDHelpline has been asked by Ball Dynamics to complete a study on ADHD in the classroom. Ball Dynamics manufacturers occupational therapy products. One product, a seat cushion, has received positive feedback from parents and teachers on the change in attention and task completion of children with ADHD in the classroom. Although this product was not intended for this use, this positive feedback has created the possibility of helping students with ADHD in the classroom.

Over the next several months, ADDHelpline will be monitoring several students using these cushions to determine if they do help children by increasing attention and task completion.

The study will involve a teacher completing a brief questionnaire based on the child s classroom behavior without the cushion, and then again completing the questionnaire after 30-45 days of using the cushion during class.

The study will be aimed at elementary age children that have diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Parents must agree to not implement or change medications during the course of the study.

Anyone that would be interested in having their child participate will receive the seat cushion at no charge. If you might be interested, or would like further information, please email George at
george@addhelpline.org as soon as possible. You will receive further details via email.
